Hima Shankar, a native of Thrissur, Kerala, India, was born on 2nd June to N K Shankaran Kutty and E V Kumari. During her formative years, she pursued her schooling at St. Don Bosco Girls High School in Kodakara and completed her intermediate education at Rajarshi Memorial Higher Secondary School in Aloor, Kerala. Showing a strong academic inclination, she pursued her BA in Sanskrit Vedanta at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady.

However, her interests soon gravitated towards the world of theatre. Eager to refine her craft, she decided to pursue a postgraduate degree in Theatre Arts at the University of Calicut School of Drama and Fine Arts in Thrissur. This academic pursuit allowed her to delve deeper into the realm of acting and drama.

In the entertainment industry, Hima Shankar gained recognition by portraying the character of Jennifer in the popular TV serial "Ente Manasaputhri" on Asianet. Beyond television, she also made her mark in advertisements and albums, showcasing her versatility as an artist. Not limited to just performing, Hima Shankar is also an acting trainer and runs her own institution, imparting her knowledge and expertise to aspiring actors, thus contributing to the growth of the acting community.

Hima Shankar embarked on her artistic journey in the realm of theatre before making her transition to the Malayalam film industry. Renowned for her performances in some of the most talked-about plays in Malayalam during the 2010s, she earned her stripes as an actor on the theatre stage. Having received training from Kerala's esteemed Drama School, her skills were honed to perfection, allowing her to effortlessly straddle the worlds of stage and screen.

Notably, Hima Shankar is not just an actor; she's also an individual with strong opinions about current social issues. This characteristic has positioned her as a regular panelist in discussions on evening newsroom shows, where she fearlessly expresses her viewpoints on matters that resonate with society.

In the entertainment sphere, Hima Shankar made waves as a participant in the first season of Bigg Boss Malayalam. Her journey on the reality show was eventful as she entered as a contestant, faced eviction on day 21, and later re-entered the house as a wildcard contestant on day 49. Despite her second stint, she was eventually eliminated on day 77.
